PROGRAM
In my program, I enthusiastically incorporate my passion for horse and rider development through my years of experience as a professional international showjumper where I’ve trained with some of the world’s best. In my training program, I use a customised approach with each horse and rider to suit their aspirations and goals. The foundation of my training is based on extensive dressage work on the flat, which helps gain the optimal ride-a-bility needed for horse and rider to thrive. This also gives the horse and rider the strength and connection they need to accomplish their goals.
For jump schooling, I like to plan training exercises that are customised to each different horse and rider while keeping things simple. This applies to the work I do myself as a professional rider, as well as the students and horses I am developing. I believe making sure horse and rider have a strong foundation on the flat ultimately brings horse and rider combinations closer to become a team. This helps us feel in-sync, positive, and confident when it’s time to head to the show and have fun!
I’m very thankful to have had the opportunity to train with many of the best riders and trainers in the world over the years. Notable names I’ve trained with include: Irish Olympic show jumpers Greg Broderick and Darragh Kenny, Andrew Bourns, as well as the outstanding German rider/ trainer duo Markus and Meredith Beerbaum. The knowledge I’ve been able to acquire from these different programs through FEI experience, young horse development, and horse management has been invaluable in applying to my career and business.
Through my 10 plus years of competing around the world and learning from the best, I’m confident in my ability to help spread my knowledge I’ve accumulated to produce top quality horses and students. The way I train at home is largely inspired by a european approach, which keeps things relatively simple and enjoyable for the horse; while also focusing on good preparation for horse and rider, so they can go to shows confidently and have fun! My program does keep its integral American roots as well, which I use to focus on accuracy, rider position, and maintaining a very organized plan for each horse and rider. I believe applying all of these different elements to training creates fantastic variety and structure to the program .
Although this program is jumper based, it suits riders of all levels and remains flexible to help each horse and rider to fulfil their goals.
SOURCING
In addition to competing as a professional rider and training as the integral part of my business, I also source horses for clients. Sourcing horses entails me spotting upcoming talent from around the world to bring talented horse and rider combinations together to ensure successful matches. Since I started sourcing horses 3 years ago it has been very prosperous already with well matched partnerships, which include wins and top results in both the U.S & Canada up to 4* 1.50 level.
MANAGEMENT
Together with my grooms, who have decades of experience in barn management, we create the best plan possible for the health and nutrition of the horses we have in the stable.
After years of experience, I gladly manage the KM Showjumping team’s staff and horse accommodations every season. I also provide hotel recommendations and can manage bookings upon request on our travels. After years of living in Europe and travelling the world, I look to minimise stress to new travellers by offering to organize client accommodations on any travels abroad , especially when trying horses overseas.
